It is no exaggeration to say that Taiwan is one of the safest countries in the world. The high level of education, low exposure to crime, economic freedom and good healthcare system are a few examples of why Taiwan is ranked 2nd on the annual Global Peace Index. It may come as a surprise to many that this island is even safer than Germany, Finland, and Sweden.

It is also an important hub of global manufacturing in automobile and electronic components. This has enabled Taiwan to earn the name of one of the four Asian tigers.
