Undiknas University Courses
Undiknas University has the largest course offering in Bali.
You can choose 3-5 courses per semester (up to 30 ECTS) from the study programs below. Participation in additional courses needs to be agreed with UNDIKNAS and the student, and an additional fee of 100 USD per course will be paid directly by the student to UNDIKNAS.

Some of the courses have prerequisites. Your study background can be considered instead of prerequisite course attendance.
Course selections
The course selections are made during the orientation, but you can still easily change them at the beginning of the semester.
Course requirements
All courses have a 75 % attendance requirement. Failing to adhere to this requirement may lead to failing a course.
Course schedules
Lectures in the Bachelor level study programs take place from Monday to Friday during the day. The semesters run for 16 weeks, from January to May and September to December.
Internship
Undiknas University offers students the possibility to conduct a Public Administration internship at their International Office after the study abroad semester.
eCampus
In addition to the courses mentioned above, you have the chance to attend additional distance learning courses in the fields of Economics, Marketing, Sociology, and Politics. All the courses are taught from a distance and can be joined independently from place and time. This gives you the ultimate flexibility to combine your study abroad experience with various academic courses.

You have the chance to opt for distance learning courses during your application process. Please note that each distance learning course is worth 5 ECTS and comes at an additional charge of 199 EUR/ 297 USD.
After completing your eCampus courses, you will receive an academic transcript issued by Undiknas University. Additionally, you will receive a participation certificate for each completed distance learning course.
Undiknas University grants credits directly as either ECTS or US credits. All courses are worth 5 ECTS / 3 US credits. You may choose a minimum of 3 courses / 15 ECTS and a maximum of 6 courses / 30 ECTS.
To transfer your credits from abroad, please visit your international office at your home institution and prepare a learning agreement. Read more about study credits here.

Undiknas University Minimum requirements
- a minimum age of 18 years
- a high school diploma or similar certificate to apply for Bachelor level study programs.
- with sufficient English skills (B2 level).

- An official transcript of records of all your semesters or, if you are not currently enrolled at an institution of higher education and applying for a Bachelor’s level study program, a copy of your high school diploma (or similar document). Click the link above for an example transcript of records. The format may vary from university to university.
- A copy of the identification page of your passport. The passport must be valid for six months after the end of the semester. If your passport expires earlier, please apply for a new passport as soon as possible. Please note that applications sent without a valid passport cannot be processed.
- A recommendation letter in English from your home university (any teacher/professor) that confirms your English skills are strong enough to study abroad. You can find an example of a statement of English Proficiency here. If you are not currently enrolled at a university, you can provide an official language certificate such as TOEFL, IELTS, DAAD or similar.
- A passport photo in JPG format.

INSTRUCTIONS
- Scan all the required documents to your computer.
- Please fill out the online application form and submit it with all the documents.
Uploading and submitting the attachments
- Please upload the attachments in PDF format.
- If possible, please submit all the attachments together with the application. If you miss some attachment(s) when you first apply, you can send the missing document(s) later. However, please note that we won’t process applications without attachments.
- All attachments must be sent to us by the application deadline at the latest, preferably as soon as possible.
- You can submit all the documents electronically. Please don’t send anything via regular mail.
- There is a late application fee for applications or attachments submitted after the deadline.
Confirmation, official acceptance letter, and visa
You’ll get a confirmation of your study placement in 1-7 days, starting from the day your application is complete with all the required documents. You’ll receive the electronic official acceptance letter one month before the semester begins. You need to print the official acceptance letter to apply for your student visa application.
Fees
The application fee invoice will be sent to you soon after the initial acceptance letter. This fee will be due within ten days of receiving your confirmation. The application fee is non-refundable even if you decide to cancel (see below). You’ll receive the invoice for the tuition fee about 2.5 months before the semester starts.
Cancellation
If you cannot participate in the study abroad semester, you have the right to cancel your participation up to 1 month before the semester starts with no extra cost (the application fee will not be refunded, however). Let us know about your cancellation by emailing us at info[at]asiaexchange.org. Cancellations notified via phone, SMS, or other means will not be considered. Travel insurance
You must have a valid accident and health insurance from your home country for the whole duration of the program. You must submit a copy of the insurance certificate to Undiknas University at the beginning of your semester. See our recommended travel insurance providers.
Universitas Pendidikan Nasional (UNDIKNAS), also known as the University of National Education, is a leading private university in Bali, founded on February 17, 1959. It is consistently ranked as the #1 private university in Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, and East Nusa Tenggara, and is recognized among the top universities in Indonesia.

Q: When will my course list be confirmed?
A: We will send your course selection to Undiknas University approximately one month after the application deadline. Unless you are notified of overlapping issues or course cancellations, all your course selections are confirmed.
Q: Can I drop a course and add another one after making my course selection?
A: Dropping a course is always possible up until the second week of the semester, as long as you have at least three courses remaining. If you wish to add a course, this can be arranged on a case-by-case basis before the semester starts (with a maximum of 6 courses).
Q: What does a typical schedule look like?
A: Generally, you will have classes from Monday to Friday depending on your course selection.
Q: What is the attendance requirement?
A: You are required to attend a minimum of 75% of classes. You must also complete both the midterm and final exams in order to receive your grades. If any issues arise, you can discuss excused absences with the program staff.
Q: When do exams take place?
A: All exams take place within the official semester dates. Midterm exams are generally held after the first 6 or 7 weeks of the semester, and final exams take place during the last weeks. Exams are scheduled on the same days and times as your regular classes.
Q: What are the costs for study materials?
A: There are no paid textbooks at Undiknas University. Some assignments will need to be submitted in printed form. There are printers available off campus, and printing is very affordable in Bali.
DAILY CONDUCT
Dress code: You must always cover your shoulders, stomach, knees and toes when on campus. Make sure to bring enough light and appropriate clothing with you, as it can be difficult to find larger sized clothes or shoes in Bali.
VISA & TRAVEL
Q: What visa do I need to study at Undiknas University?
A: A Socio-Cultural Visa or Short Visit Visa. Students enrolling in a full degree program must apply for a Limited Stay Visa.
Q: When should I apply for my visa?
A: As soon as you receive the official acceptance letter from Undiknas University. We will send it no later than 1.5-2 months before the semester starts. You cannot apply for your visa using the initial acceptance letter from Asia Exchange.
Q: Can I travel within Indonesia during the semester if my passport is at immigration for a visa extension?
A: Previous students have been able to travel with a scanned copy of their passport and their Undiknas University student card. You can find more information about student visas for Indonesia here.

A: It’s entirely up to you. During the autumn semester, many affordable accommodations are booked up in advance, but most students prefer to check places in person after arriving.
TRANSPORT
Q: Do I need an international driving licence to ride a scooter in Bali?
A: Yes. If you don’t have one yet, make sure to apply for one in your home country. Keep in mind that to ride a scooter in Bali, you need a motorcycle licence. Without it, you may run into issues with your insurance company in the event of an accident.
HEALTH & SAFETY
Q: What vaccinations do I need?
A: We recommend the MMR vaccine (measles, mumps and rubella), Tetanus-diphtheria, and Hepatitis A and B. You can consult your doctor if you plan to travel to rural areas. Bali is not a malaria-endemic zone, so you will most likely not need to purchase anti-malaria medication.
Q: Can I bring medication to Bali?
A: This should not be a problem as long as you bring the doctor’s prescription along with the medication. Some prescriptions can be very difficult to find in Bali, even though there are many pharmacies in tourist areas.
Q: What are the hospitals like in Bali?
A: There are several international hospitals in Bali, including BIMC, Siloam and Kasih Ibu. Contact your insurance provider and ask for their list of partners in Bali. For minor issues, you can generally visit one of the many local clinics found throughout the island.
Q: Do I need to take out travel insurance?
A: You are required to have valid accident and health insurance for the entire duration of your study abroad program. The university may request a copy of your insurance certificate at the start of the semester. Additional information and recommended insurance options.
