Accommodation in Shanghai
Accommodation during your studies in China
Our partner university in China offers on-campus accommodation at affordable rates. Read more below. Before starting the study abroad program, we’ll send each student an Asia Exchange Guide, which includes more detailed information on accommodation options.
You can indicate on the application form if you want to apply for a room at the international student dormitory on campus. Please note that Asia Exchange cannot guarantee accommodation on behalf of the university. If there are no rooms available in the dormitory, students will be responsible for arranging their own accommodation. Shanghai University confirms the dormitory room situation at the latest two weeks before the semester starts.
You have the choice between single rooms and double rooms. The rent for the single room is 140 RMB/day and for the double room 70 RMB/day. At the beginning of the stay, you should pay the room deposit (1800 RMB) + the rent for the whole stay.
There is an internet room in residence, but it’s also possible to get your own internet connection to the room with a small extra fee.
You can move into the dorms 3 days before the registration and orientation day and need to move out 3 days after the program ending day.
If you wish to look for accommodation off-campus or have no dormitory rooms available, we recommend SmartShanghai.
