Spanish Course
In addition to the general course offer, all our students can join a beginner level Spanish language course.
Course Selections
The final course selection takes place during the orientation week, one week before the official start of the semester. Please note that Anahuac University reserves rights to changes in the course offering. Since Anahuac University offers no tailor-made exchange program with specific courses, students should be prepared for possible course changes. Pick some extra courses when making your initial course selection if one of your choices isn’t available. At the beginning of the semester, you can still make some changes to your course plan if needed after arriving at the destination.
eCampus
In addition to the courses mentioned above, you have the chance to attend additional distance learning courses in the fields of Economics, Marketing, Sociology, and Politics. All the courses are taught from a distance and can be joined independently from place and time. This gives you the ultimate flexibility to combine your study abroad experience with various academic courses.

You have the chance to opt for distance learning courses during your application process. Please note that each distance learning course is worth 5 ECTS and comes at an additional charge of 149€ / 167USD.
After completing your eCampus courses, you will receive an academic transcript issued by Undiknas University. Additionally, you will receive a participation certificate for each completed distance learning course.
Study Abroad in Mexico Credits & Grading
At Anáhuac University, the following applies:
At Anáhuac University, most courses are equivalent to 6 credits. 6 Credits equivalent to at least 45 hours in the classroom per semester (16 weeks). In addition, the student must do homework and, where appropriate, hours of laboratory. Independent study time equals 3 hours of classes weekly.
In comparison, 1 US credit requires 15h of classroom lectures and 1 ECTS point equals 27h of study time (in the classroom + independent studies). Therefore, 1 Credit point at Anáhuac University equals 0,5 US credits or 0,83 ECTS Points.

Who can apply to Study Abroad in Mexico
To apply, you need to have at least

- You must be currently enrolled at an institution of higher education (university, university of applied sciences or similar)
Study Abroad in Mexico Required Documents
- A scanned copy of the identification page of your passport. Please note that the passport must be valid 6 months after the semester ends.
- An official transcript of records, This should preferably be submitted in English, but we also accept these documents in German, French, Finnish, and Spanish.

Uploading and submitting the attachments
- Please upload the attachments in PDF format.
- If possible, please submit all the attachments together with the application. If you’re missing some attachment(s) when you first apply, you can later send the missing document(s). However, please note that we won’t process applications without any attachments whatsoever.
- All attachments must be sent to us by the application deadline at the very latest, preferably as soon as possible.
- You can submit all the documents electronically. Please don’t send anything via regular mail.
- There is a late application fee for applications or attachments submitted after the application deadline.
Confirmation
You’ll get a confirmation of your study placement in 1-7 days, starting from when your application is complete with all the required documents.
Fees
The application fee invoice will be sent to you soon after the initial acceptance letter. This fee will be due within 10 days of receiving your confirmation. The application fee is non-refundable even if you decide to cancel (see below).
Cancellation
If you’re unable to participate in the study abroad semester, you have the right to cancel your participation up to 1 month before the semester starts with no extra cost (the application fee will not be refunded, however). Let us know about your cancellation by writing us an email at info[at]asiaexchange.org. Cancellations notified via phone, SMS or by any other means will not be considered. Travel insurance
You are required to have valid accident and health insurance from your home country for the whole duration of the program. The university may request a copy of the insurance certificate at the beginning of the semester. See our recommended travel insurance providers.

Q: Can I take Master’s level courses at Anáhuac University?
A: No, you cannot study master courses as an international student.
Q: Are there mandatory courses?
A: No, there are no mandatory courses.
Q: When are my course selections confirmed?
A: You will select your courses during the orientation week at the beginning of your semester.
Q: Can I drop out of a course or add a course after making the course selections?
A: Dropping out of courses is possible. However, adding courses depends on the availability of seats and the decision of your lecturers.
Q: How does the weekly schedule look like?
A: In general, you will have contact lectures from Monday to Friday. The teaching staff may be unable to show up for lectures for some reason from time to time. In this case, the class will be moved to another day or you will receive a replacement assignment.
Q: What is the required minimum attendance?
A: You must attend a minimum of 75 % of lectures and all mandatory workshops/excursions. You must also pass the mid-term and final exams to receive your grades. In case of sickness, you can discuss with the program staff regarding the excused absence.
Q: When do the exams take place?
A: All exams will take place inside the official semester dates at the end of the semester.
Q: What kind of costs are there regarding study materials?
A: There are no mandatory additional costs for international students in our programs. However, some optional excursions may require a small fee to be paid.
Q: Is there a dress code at Anáhuac University?
A: You should always cover your shoulders, belly, knees and toes when on campus. Please bring enough proper, lightweight clothes with you from home as it can be difficult to find especially bigger clothes or shoes in Cancun.
Q: What is the correct type of visa for studying abroad in Mexico at Anáhuac University?
A: Students who will be in Mexico for less than 180 days may enter with a tourist card with a maximum duration of 180 days. Students who will be visiting for a period longer than 180 days can apply for a student visa. Your study program or the Mexican consulate can help you with this process.
Q: When can I apply for my visa?
A: As soon as you receive the official acceptance letter from your host university. We will send this to you latest 1 month before the semester starts. You cannot apply for your visa with the initial acceptance letter from Beyond Abroad
Q: How can I find suitable accommodation options?

Q: Should I book accommodation in advance or after arriving in Cancun?
A: It is entirely up to you. We always recommend our students book a hostel or hotel for the first days and explore the city before deciding where to live.
Q: How is the public transportation system in Cancun?
A: Cancun has an excellent infrastructure with a well-working public transportation system. At the same time, taxis are very affordable. Most students prefer Taxi services as they are more convenient.
Q: Which vaccinations do I need to take?
A: We recommend MMR, Tetanus-diphtheria and hepatitis A and B. You can ask your doctor for possible other recommendations if you wish to travel to more rural areas.
Q: How are the hospitals in Cancun?
A: There are many international standard hospitals in Cancun that orientate closely to US standards.
Q: Do I need to have travel insurance? You are required to have a valid accident and health insurance for the whole duration of the program. The university may request a copy of the insurance certificate at the beginning of the semester.
Q: What kind of costs should I be prepared for?
A: In addition to tuition fees, you should be prepared to pay for the visa, flights, accommodation, and other living costs. The cost of living is relatively low in Cancun. The actual costs depend on your lifestyle.
Q: I need to have my learning agreement/certificate of enrollment signed. What should I do?
A: Please fill out the document and send it to info@asiaexchange.org and we will forward it to Anáhuac University for signing.
Q: When will I receive my Official Acceptance Letter? The electronic official acceptance letter will be sent to you by email at the latest 1 month before the semester starts.
Q: When will I receive my Transcript of Records?
A: The university prepares and sends the transcripts of records usually within 2-3 months after the end of the semester
