Finnish study abroad organization Asia Exchange has been strongly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and adapted to these strange times like every individual and organization worldwide. However, contrary to most, to tackle the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Asia Exchange decided to push growth more than ever, to expand into new markets, to increase the product range, to scale up services tremendously and to lead the industry in revolutionizing international student mobility.
We quickly decided to make the big step and to leave our comfort zone in east Asia. Beyond Abroad was born. In the past decade, we learned a lot about international student mobility and became true experts in this field. With this expertise from sending more than 8000 students abroad, we decided to grow our portfolio with destinations that are safe in terms of COVID-19 and are not limited to Asia anymore.
Beyond Abroad was established in 2020 in Finland by Harri Suominen and Tuomas Kauppinen, founders of Asia Exchange and Edunation. Things developed quickly and today, we are proud to work with 17 Universities in 11 countries worldwide, including destinations such as Costa Rica, Portugal, Ireland, Italy, and Cuba. Beyond Abroad is still developing fast and we are optimistic to add many more destinations shortly.

Many students are interested in studying abroad, but not everyone can find the right option through their home institution. Others are simply unlucky and miss the early application deadline and tight placement quotas. Normally, a student would need to wait for the next intake to get another chance.

We provide all information needed and more, help with course selections, consult you in your travel arrangements and generally enable you to make the most out of the semester abroad. We are proud to have the best Student Support Service in the industry and we are obsessed with our students, helping, and taking care of them at any time of the day.
But we do more than that, we take as much as possible off the shoulders of any involved institution as well.

All the courses and programs offered on our website are part of the official curriculum of our partner universities. The courses consist of lectures, workshops, visits to local businesses as well as charity activities. Students from all backgrounds can apply with Beyond Abroad. While not every student may be able to find courses perfectly matching their study fields, there’s still the possibility to take interesting elective courses or minors to complement your major.
